Carlos Pointe, Fort Myers

Whoa. It's been a long time since I added anything to my blog and I've missed it. My life has been a happy whirlwind of school and family, so writing time has been nonexistent. Here I go ...

In February we vacationed at the south end of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, and we had an awesome time. Mom flew down to meet us (her Christmas gift from us) and the four of us stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo at Carlos Pointe.

We would definitely stay there again.

Clean, friendly, great location ... 'loved every single second of it. We rented unit 125 so we can't vouch for any other unit (some of the reviews of the other units are scathing) and it was very clean and comfortable. These condos look right out onto the gulf, but are also located right at a place where there is a lot of boat traffic heading out from the intercoastal waters. It was sooo relaxing to watch from the comfort of our lanai, drink in hand.

Note: If you are young and single and looking for "action", do not stay at Carlos Pointe. There were moments we felt like we were in a scene from Cocoon, but we thoroughly enjoyed feeling very fit and youthful.

Restaurants we enjoyed:
Best Meal: Bayfront Bistro
Excellent Meal: South Beach Grill
Great Authentic Italian: Enzo's Italian Restaurant
Amazing Mexican (and $1 margaritas while we waited for a table!): Iguana Mia
Yummy Casual Food: Coconut Jack's
Great Beachy Atmosphere: Doc's Beach House

  1. Lynn, I have two additions for you. We go visit my dad in Ft. Myers Beach quite often and enjoy these two spots, which are right on the water. They are kind of 'hideaway' spots, and favorites of the locals... enjoy! -Moe

(Try to get there early so you can sit on the back deck and watch the fisherman come in... they have a fish cleaning station there and feed the pelicans.)
